Delta Construction Partners is a national executive search firm for the nation’s premier electrical contractors and industry professionals. Delta has been retained by a confidential client to conduct a search for the position of Mechanical Estimator in Dallas, Texas.

Mechanical Estimator Compensation & Benefits

Total compensation for the Mechanical Estimator in Dallas, Texas is between $80,000 and $110,000 depending on experience, and may be more than this range for candidates with exceptional experience and successful history of performance.

Mechanical Estimator Duties & Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed material and labor estimates for process solution projects
  • Produce a conceptual estimate based on available information, historical data, experience and basic known engineering concepts, if plans are not available
  • Produce project estimates using prescribed forms, industry recognized techniques, company processes and procedures
  • Prepare proposal letters, scope qualifications, exclusions and final pricings
  • Assess final estimates for project compliance, reasonable and complete use of materials, pricing and total value as compared to similar work to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Monitor all addenda, scope changes and bid forms to ensure they are processed and incorporated into the estimate in a timely manner
  • Provide expert advice on vendor selection and obtains and reviews pricing quotes
  • Review all vendor proposals to identify technical compliance
  • Review project plans and specifications to gain a complete understanding of the project's scope
  • Assist with scope qualifications, exclusions and final pricings while working with the business development team to finalize proposals.
  • Review architectural, structural and civil documents to examine their impact on the mechanical and plumbing scope of work

Mechanical Estimator Qualifications

  • You must have at least 2 years of experience in the mechanical/electrical contracting industry relating to HVAC/MEP
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field is required
  • 2-5 years’ experience in the industry is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability and keen attention to detail
  • Solid time-management skills and prioritization skills
