Delta Construction Partners is a national executive search firm for the nation’s premier electrical contractors and industry professionals. Delta has been retained by a confidential client to conduct a search for the position of Mechanical Estimator in Laurel, Maryland.

Mechanical Estimator Compensation & Benefits

Total compensation for the Mechanical Estimator in Laurel, MD is between $90,000 and $120,000 depending on experience, and may be more than this range for candidates with exceptional experience and successful history of performance.

Mechanical Estimator Duties & Responsibilities

  • Complete understanding of scope as outline in contracts
  • Involved in pre-bid meetings and walkthroughs
  • Compile appropriate documents to create a responsive bid proposal
  • Solicit quotes from outside vendors and review proposal
  • Perform materials, lab, and equipment take-off as required by bid documents
  • Project a positive, professional image when interacting with customers and suppliers
  • Transfers all pertinent/required information to scope sheet for review by the Estimating Manager
  • Perform conceptual estimating for clients
  • Follow up with clients based on submitted proposals
  • Maintain company confidentiality at all times

Mechanical Estimator Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years industry-specific field experience
  • Experience with Accubid and LiveCount
  • Must be committed to professional and personal growth.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local building codes and construction laws
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Change order experience
  • Ability to perform detailed work and successfully meet deadlines
  • Must have stable work history
  • Documented completion of OSHA’s 30-hour Construction Training Course
  • Ability to travel to job site as needed (once a week)

Preferred but Not Necessary

  • College Degree in Electrical Engineering
